Are you pushing too hard?

Guest speaker, Dr. Tania (Chinese Medicine) of Bnourishd.

One of the things about chasing success and making your dreams come true is the inevitable hustle, the grind that you need to go through.

While it is important to work hard for your dreams and be relentless, I have a different perspective on things.

Here’s what I mean:

See, people have hustle all wrong.

It doesn’t mean focusing on one thing to the point of everything else in your life. It doesn’t mean becoming one-dimensional or becoming selfish to the point that you lose all your friends.

That’s a recipe for disaster.

An out of balance life makes it ten times harder to achieve success.

Take working out for example…

If you’re working out 3-4 hours per day (cuz you’re hustlin’) and carrying that pattern for a few weeks, it’s just a matter of time before your body breaks down.

While working hard is important, extremely important, being in balance is equally important because if you can’t stay in balance you’re not experiencing inner fulfillment and unable to access your higher intelligence.

Plus, going too extreme is a recipe for burnout. (…or more compensatory extreme behaviors like addictions)

Hard work while staying in balance is my mantra for success.

It makes hard work seem like a breeze, you sleep better and the enthusiasm for life never really goes down.

So on to the inevitable question – where are you imbalanced in your life?

You know what extreme behaviors you indulge in, someday theories (someday you’ll get to do what you truly want to do) you’ve bought into or if you’re not operating in balance and have something to look forward to everyday (happens naturally if you operate in balance), you’re making things harder for yourself.

Cut out the toxic stuff from your life, stop working too damn hard and focus on the bigger picture – if it’s important to you, you’ll be doing this for a long time.

You might as well create balance in your life and enjoy the ride.

Stay Well, Dr Tania
